WHY WE CARE?
Have you often wondered why "WE" as parents care so much about the amount of time our kids are spending on social media and electronics and how much they are exposed to it on a daily basis? I think about this more than I want to. Being a mother to 5 awesome kids, I am constantly battling the type of social media my kids are viewing and alway questioning how much time is appropriate for them to spend on this kind of stuff. Some popular apps and websites for this are Instagram, TikTok, SnapChat, YouTube Kids, Twitter, WhatsApp, Pinterest, Facebook, Whisper, and just plain old texting. This is just to name a few. What Apps are good? What Apps are bad? How much time is spent on these apps in "real" life? Is there a certain amount of time that is acceptable? These are a few questions that I would like to focus on. This blog will be about the positive and negative things that come from social media with our kids and what we can do as parents to embrace technology. Hopefully, we can see first hand how social media affects children today. Why do we care? Because we LOVE our kids!

Hopefully, as you follow this blog, you will find it helpful, interesting, entertaining and insightful. Seeing that I am using Social Media myself, BRING IT ON!!!

This is so fun! I think that this is something that every parent does and has questioned. Should I let my kids have technology? When is it right? Etc. I think your take on this will be really interesting and I love that you let us know (your readers) what technology your kids have access to. I think getting to follow them as they journey with social media and technology will help us know what apps are appropriate, and maybe help some people make decisions on what they should allow their children to view or use when it comes to the technological world.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you are awesome and your family is adorable! I'm so glad you've made this blog!
Keep posting and keep letting us know what's good and what you're up to!
I love these pictures of your kids. How cute are they? It's nice to know I'm not the only person in our class on the other end of the path when it comes to family.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are working towards giving reviews about apps and media. It is a concern. I have a child that I believe is already struggling with depression from electronic use and so I fully agree with your goal to help us know what our kids are watching!
I think this will be very interesting to learn about the apps and see if it is okay for children to be using. It will also be interesting to see how each of your kids use technology because it is such a variety of their age groups and what they have access to so I think it will be very cool to learn more about. I can't wait to hear about the good and the bad with these apps and see how each kid would use the apps. I can't wait to hear more about this and see what I can learn from it as well.
